New to Church?

00 Welcome Welcome! Whether you've just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life, we hope our website helps you to find out everything you want to know about our Church.

Some key information about the church...

Where & when does the church meet?

Our Church meets every Sunday at 8am, 10am and 6.30pm for our Sunday Services. Aim to arrive 10 minutes early to ensure you get a parking spot and seat in time for the service to start.

{For those unable to come and worship on Sunday we have a regular Holy Communion Service on Wednesday at 10am}

We meet at:

St Peter and St Paul Church
Minnis Lane
River
Dover
Kent CT17 0RG

You can see a map on our contact us page

There is limited parking available on the site.

What should I expect when I visit the church?

You will receive a very warm welcome and you can sit anywhere.
There will be lots of singing, with words on a screen or in hymn books depending on the service, prayers, (we are always happy to receive requests for  private or public prayer) readings from the Bible (you can bring your own, but we have them available or you can use a Bible app on your chosen device).
There will be a talk/sermon and Holy Communion/Eucharist/The Lord's Supper at some services where all those who are baptised are welcome young and old alike.

Tea, coffee and biscuits (sometimes cakes & doughnuts as well) are served after the service where there is plenty of time to meet new people and ask more questions.

What happens to the kids at church?

We have a fantastic programme for the kids at the Church for all ages.
Children stay with their parents at the start of the service as we worship (sing songs!) together for the first part of the morning. Someone will announce when the children can go to their groups or they can stay with you if they or you prefer.
You will need to go with your children and register them, if you are coming for the first time as we take safeguarding seriously.

For more information about what happens in the children's work please visit the relevant age groups for you under church life.

Is there a dress code?

No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes.

Will I have to join in?

Not at all!
You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.
It is your village church.
